    Research Technician

     

    Position Type: Per Diem

     

    Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM; minimum 2 days/week, up to 4 days/week including potential weekends

     

    Duration:Through end of October, with potential extension

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilledResearch Technicianto support the operations of our specialized Core facility. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our research environment, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and supporting cutting-edge scientific advancements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and medical imaging, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform advanced research techniques and procedures in a Core-specific science.

    + Supervise daily operations of specialized Core facilities.

    + Maintain financial records and databases for invoicing and customer usage tracking.

    + Provide timely and effective technical support to user groups.

    + Maintain, troubleshoot, and service laboratory instrumentation.

    + Assist in implementing new techniques and technologies to maintain a competitive, state-of-the-art Core.

    + Collaborate with the Center Director and staff to establish, update, and enforce safety and operational protocols.

    Essential Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum 9 months of relevant laboratory or research experience.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills in a laboratory setting.

    + Knowledge of magnetic resonance and medical laboratory procedures.

    + Certification in CRT, ARRT, or ARMRIT.

    + Demonstrated understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

    + High-level knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.

    + Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

    + Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

    Work Environment

    + Involves working with pediatric populations (ages 3–5).

    + Per diem role with flexible scheduling; coverage needed while primary technician is on leave.

    + Opportunity for extension based on workload and lab expansion plans.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
