    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Specialist to support electric distribution design projects for Southern California Edison (SCE). This is a fully remote position, ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in overhead and underground electric distribution systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables across multiple projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform comprehensive QA/QC reviews of electric distribution designs (OH/UG), including field notes, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

    + Ensure all designs meet SCE’s construction standards and client-specific requirements.

    + Review and validate engineering calculations (e.g., pole loading, guying, transformer sizing, conductor sagging).

    + Evaluate Compatible Units (CUs) and Macro Units in GIS/WMS systems.

    + Review construction drawings for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

    + Audit associated documentation such as Bill of Materials, Pole Boring, and Guying Reports.

    + Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior QA/QC staff and designers.

    + Identify design issues and provide constructive feedback to improve quality and efficiency.

    + Support design development to meet project schedules and client expectations.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and standards.

    Qualifications

    + 10+ years of experience in electric distribution design, with a strong QA/QC experience.

    + Proficiency in utility design standards, especially those of Southern California Edison.

    + Familiarity with GIS platforms, CADD tools, and utility asset management systems.

    + Strong understanding of industry codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices.

    + Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
