    We are seeking a dedicated Large Animal Behavioral Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct behavioral observations, social introductions, and compatibility assessments for large animals, develop and implement enrichment and training plans, and collaborate with veterinary and animal care teams.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct behavioral observations, social introductions, and compatibility assessments for large animals.

    + Develop and implement enrichment and training plans using methods such as positive reinforcement and habituation.

    + Maintain detailed documentation and databases, including infant tracking.

    + Collaborate effectively with veterinary and animal care teams.

    + Train new staff on animal behavior and welfare practices.

    + Support breeding program optimization and manage animal acclimation.

    + Availability required for weekends and holidays.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge of animal behavior and breeding.

    + Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relational databases.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.

    + Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + BA/BS in behavioral or biological sciences preferred.

    + AALAS ALAT certification preferred, or must obtain within one year.

    + Valid FL driver's license or equivalent.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working with large animals primarily during the day shift. The work environment requires animal husbandry, handling, and health practices. The technician will also engage in animal research and cleaning duties.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
