• Design Engineer

    Actalent (Naperville, IL)


    Responsibilities:

    + Develop designs, routing plans, and material specifications for natural gas distribution mains, ensuring alignment with industry codes and standards.

    + Regularly utilize AutoCAD and GIS software to produce and update technical drawings.

    + Manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.

    + Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.

    + Perform quality control checks on drawings and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the drawing database.

    + Conduct field visits (5–10% of the time) throughout the project lifecycle to support Field and Construction Operations. Responsibilities include site inspections, taking measurements, documenting equipment, and observing installation and commissioning activities.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution (required).

    + Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

    + Internship experience or up to three years of relevant engineering experience.

    + Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or design projects.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Must have a dependable mode of transportation for occasional travel.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
