    Our Perfusion department is growing and we have Full-time Opportunities available with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

     

    **Variable Work Schedule** : Must be available from 7:00a – 3pm Monday – Friday – rotating weekends and holidays. Ability to work on Call required

    **Call:** Must be present/onsite within 30 minutes of call. “on call rotation is shared equally among all staff perfusionist”.

    **Education** – Bachelors degree & Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Program required

    **Certification/License** : Must have the following at time of hire/transfer - Cert Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) and Licensed Perfusionist (PERFUSIO) - Texas Medical Board

    **Experience** – Leadership and 2-3 Years of intermediate level Perfusion experience. We’re seeking professionals with a desire to teach, train cardiology fellows, and share perfusion knowledge base with fellows, team members, and students during clinical rotations.

    Job Summary

    The Manager Perfusion manages, plans, organizes, and improves work processes in Perfusion Services. This position handles department orientation, teaches, coaches, and supervises staff. Ensures understanding of the organization's vision, mission, values, and goals. Recommends and helps develop policies and procedures to comply with regulations and System philosophy. Acts as Director when needed.

    Essential Functions of the Role

    + Plans, designs, implements, and maintains work processes for Perfusion services. This includes operating extracorporeal circulation equipment and selecting appropriate equipment and techniques. All tasks are done timely, accurately, and cost-efficiently, following System and regulatory standards, policies, and service guidelines.

    + Maintains the highest level of surgeon satisfaction.

    + Monitors, evaluates, and modifies staffing patterns to ensure adequate levels. Prepares and modifies work schedules to ensure coverage of all shifts. Approves paid time off, sick time, and leave of absence for assigned staff.

    + Trains new staff and ensures all registrations and certifications are current, on file, and up to date. Helps develop staff for career and growth opportunities.

    + Partners with the management team and staff to hold multidisciplinary meetings. This ensures consistent communication and that the organization's Vision, Mission, Values, and Goals are understood and followed.

    + Facilitates goal setting for staff. Monitors goals and achievements. Assures the outcome of goals is in annual performance evaluations. Encourages employees to participate in Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Patient Safety surveys, and other feedback activities. Provides service feedback results to staff. Initiates a plan of action for areas of improvement.

    + Ensure all perfusion equipment works properly and has current maintenance. Maintain all perfusion supplies at par levels.

    + Partners with Management to develop a department budget. Provides feedback on new and replacement equipment and services needed for growth. Monitors operational budgets and implements corrective action plans for negative productivity and expense variances.

    + Acts as a liaison to other departments. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians and other medical departments. Gathers and exchanges information, and develops and implements solutions to problems. Assists in developing, reviewing, revising, submitting, and implementing policies, procedures, and goals that help Department and System goals.

    + Ensures the department is compliant with applicable regulatory standards as well as departmental policies and protocols.

    + Coordinates and manages groups focusing on patient safety, customer service, and performance improvement. Manages environment of Care, Employee Engagement, Physician Engagement, and Quality Improvement. Participates in shared governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees.

    + Assists OR schedulers in facilitating Perfusion coverage for case add-ons, etc.

    Key Success Factors

    + Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, chemistry and biology.

    + Knowledge of several cardiac disease, defects and congenital anomalies.

    + Knowledge of sterile and perfusion supplies: extracorporeal oxygenators, tubing circuits, and cannulae for adult, pediatric and infants.

    + Knowledge of arteries, veins, organs, and specific blood flow paths in the body, including pressures and gas exchange in adult, pediatric, and infant patients.

    + Knowledge of blood components, plasma composition, and use of blood products with extracorporeal circuits and devices.

    + Skill in operating extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment.

    + Verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards as well as departmental polices and protocols.

    + Ability to create operational outcomes for work processes, quality and productivity standards, and measurable goals for employees and project teams.

    + Ability to use broader goals to establish how best to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

    + Ability to make or approve effective hiring and termination outcomes.

    + Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to policies, and establish procedures that affect the managed organization.

    + Basic business knowledge includes annual planning, goal setting, budget adherence, employee compensation, compliance, and risk management.

    + General computer skills include Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    + EDUCATION - Bachelors

    + EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

    + Cert Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)

    + Licensed Perfusionist (PERFUSIO)

    + Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
