Job Description
Summary
AV is seeking a Sr. Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Marketing & Communications team. In this role, you’ll develop and execute a content strategy plan to consistently deliver high-quality content across external channels.
You’ll work closely with the Sr. Manager of Communications and collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, technical experts, and executive leadership to develop content that builds the AV brand, amplifies AV leadership voices as forward-thinking industry experts, showcases our technologies to current and potential customers, and supports Business Development and Investor Relations goals.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Support the development and execution of a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with corporate brand, product marketing, and business objectives
+ Develop editorial calendar and deliver high-impact content across all channels (press releases, website, case studies, social media, etc.)
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with executives, subject matter experts, engineers, Government Relations, Investor Relations, and Marketing & Communications team to create thought leadership assets (editorials, whitepapers, social media, etc.)
+ Identify and support key speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for executives and senior leadership (industry tradeshows, investor forums, webinars, podcasts, etc.)
+ Translate technically complex material into easily digestible messaging for targeted audiences
+ Support Internal Communications and Social Media team with content creation
+ Maintain brand voice and editorial style guide to ensure consistency across content
+ Efficiently manage the full content development cycle (content gathering, drafts, edits, approvals, deadlines, etc.) and multiple fast-paced workflows
+ Navigate a matrixed, dynamic environment with agility and prioritize effectively amid shifting demands
+ Manage multiple projects simultaneously and track progress through project management tools such as Monday, Asana, Jira, or similar platforms
+ **Other duties as assigned**
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
+ BA in journalism, English, communications, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
+ 8+ years of communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism, or editorial experience
+ Proven ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives
+ Strong project management skills with experience juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders
+ Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
+ Strong communications skills, both written and oral
+ Ability to work in a team environment and independently
+ Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail
+ Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
+ Defense industry experience
+ Experience supporting successful executive thought leadership campaigns
+ Portfolio of relevant work demonstrating strategic thinking and content craftsmanship
+ Knowledge of Meltwater or other PR management software
+ Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
+ Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
+ Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
+ Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
+ Focuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
Physical Demands:
+ Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)
+ Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
Special Requirements:
+ **_U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or_** _asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required._
+ Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
The salary range for this role is:
$88,800 - $126,000
