    THE POSITION

    Are you a skilled tradesperson who is proficient in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of automotive machinery and equipment? Would you enjoy a career in which you can tackle complex projects while working in the great outdoors? If so, the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) may have the position for you! We are excited to welcome an ambitious Automotive Mechanic to join our team at Raccoon Creek State Park. Play a key role in ensuring that the park's vehicles are operating in top shape by performing preventative maintenance and repairs to our fleet. We look forward to working with you!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of gas and diesel automotives, tractors, mowers, and other equipment used to conduct operations throughout Raccoon Creek State Park . Duties will include s ervicing filters, changing oil and other fluids as required, performing diagnostic testing, and completing necessary repairs on trucks, tractors, small engines, backhoes, and any other equipment within the park. You will also be responsible for ordering parts, materials, and supplies needed for repairs in accordance with state purchasing procedures. When necessary, this professional makes arrangements for repairs at dealerships and repair shops when the scope is beyond what the park equipment is able to accomplish. Detailed vehicle and equipment repair records must be accurately and promptly maintained.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may vary to include weekends and holidays.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship ;or

    + Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

    Special Requirements:

    + This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
