Join the Publix Transportation Systems Development Team “Where Development is a Pleasure.” Our team is growing, and we are looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer that wants to grow with us. This position will play a key role in the design, development, testing and implementation of Transportation systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, planning, development, and problem-solving skills, and excel at communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business customers.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Contribute to the design and develop enterprise-grade technology solutions with a focus on system performance, cross-system interdependence, stability, scalability, and usability.

+ Utilize modern development methodologies with a cloud-first approach, incorporating CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

+ Participate in application design and development meetings, employing both Agile and traditional methodologies.

+ Create comprehensive documentation for technical design, system specifications, and desired test outcomes.

+ Participate in an on-call rotation for production support.

Potential Annual Pay with Bonus:

Year End Bonus:

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.

+ 3+ years of software engineering experience.

+ 3+ years of hands-on software development experience with modern development frameworks.

+ Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions.

+ Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in authoring and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

+ Experience developing in cloud infrastructure, preferably on Microsoft Azure, utilizing Terraform modules and best practices.

+ Experience designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core and proficient in utilizing API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.

+ Proficient in Git, with experience in branching, merging, and pull request workflows.

+ Experience with Database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server, various source control technologies, DevOps, Visual Studio 2019 and 2022.

+ Experienced in working within Agile/Scrum teams.
