    If you are looking for an exciting career opportunity in the IT, engineering, software development, logistics, and project management fields, Linchpin Solutions is the place to be! We are currently hiring for a dynamic and experienced Air C2 Tactical Data Link (TDL) Systems Engineer.

     

    Clearance:Active DoD Secret Clearance

     

    Work Schedule:Onsite with occasional travel. Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. Shipboard testing events may require up to two weeks at sea per quarter.

    Role Overview:

    The Air C2 Tactical Data Link (TDL) Systems Engineer will design, implement, configure, and test Tactical Data Link architectures (Link-16, JREAP A/B/C, Satellite Link 16) and support interoperability between aviation assets, fire support systems, radar systems, and simulation tools. This role includes operating and managing TDL and VMF input within air C2 systems, conducting interoperability and system-of-systems testing, and providing technical troubleshooting and training. The position will also develop and execute test plans, support Planning, Execution, Analysis, and Reporting (PEAR) activities, and participate in shipboard and lab-based test events.

    + Skilled in preparing and delivering technical reports and briefings

     

    Specific Skillset

     

    + Design and implement Tactical Data Link architectures, including Link-16 (data and voice), JREAP A/B/C, and Satellite Link 16

    + Troubleshoot, document, and brief technical issues related to Aviation C2 systems, networks, and TDLs

    + Operate and manage TDL and VMF input within air C2 systems during test events

    + Configure and operate Link 16 and radar simulation tools, such as Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3) and Wrap Around Simulation Program (WASP)

    + Configure air C2 systems for data exchange with aviation assets (e.g., Joint Strike Fighter), fire support systems (AFATDS), radar systems (G/ATOR, CTN), and sim/stim tools

    + Conduct joint Link-16 interoperability and system-of-systems testing with air C2 systems

    + Operate and employ TDL management tools for filtering and exchanging the air picture

    + Conduct testing events on Naval vessels (pier-side and at-sea, up to two weeks per quarter)

    + Perform Planning, Execution, Analysis, and Reporting (PEAR) for integration and demonstration test events

    + Develop test cases, procedures, and functional checklists for air C2 system test events

    + Provide over-the-shoulder training on air C2 system installation, configuration, and operation

    + Initialize and configure the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) for testing and engineering events

    + Perform software maintenance on CAC2S

    + Initialize and configure the Composite Tracking Network (CTN) for test and engineering events

    Requirements

    Education & Certifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred)

    + Specialized training in Tactical Data Links or Air C2 systems (preferred)

    Experience Requirements

    + Minimum 4–6 years of experience with Tactical Data Link architecture design, integration, and testing

    + Hands-on experience with Link-16, JREAP, and related C2/TDL systems

    + Experience conducting system interoperability and joint testing in shipboard and lab environments

    + Familiarity with CAC2S, CTN, and related aviation C2 systems
