    Job Summary

    **Egress Technician I.** Inspect, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft egress, canopy fracturing system, emergency oxygen system components, Onboard Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS) and related systems in accordance with technical manuals under the direction of qualified inspectors/supervision.

    Accountability

    + Perform all work-related actions as directed by management.

    + Follow instructions by work center shift lead, or above.

    + Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment.

    + Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner.

    + Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.

    + Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion.

    + Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s).

    + Complete and comply with On-the-Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP), Egress/Explosive Checkout Program, and all safety regulations established by site, city, state, and federal bodies.

    + Perform conditional, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on ejection seats, OBOGS, canopy, and emergency oxygen systems.

    + Perform Egress System and OBOGS troubleshooting.

    + Qualify and operate ground support equipment (GSE).

    + Data input, records e.g. NALCOMIS/OOMA, VFS Trace (CADPAD).

    + Utilize maintenance manuals, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, technical publications.

    + Order required parts and supplies.

    + Perform inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspection(s) under the supervision of a qualified inspector.

    + Maintain Team Member (TM) ordnance qualification/certification to transport and handle ordnance.

    Education and Experience

    + High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

    + Completion of Navy AME "A" school, equivalent military service school(s) or type/model/series (TMS) factory equivalent training, required.

    + Three (3) or more years of work experience directly related to Aircraft Egress, required.

    + Two (2) or more years of canopy fracturing system experience, preferred.

    + Valid driver’s license.

    + Experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP 4790.2)

    + Experience with NAVAIR 11-100-1.1, and other technical maintenance manuals.

    + Experience with aircraft egress systems and OBOGS.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment

    + Walk, stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods of time.

    + Climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance and reach above shoulder level.

    + Push or pull weight up to seventy (70) pounds.

    + Eye hand coordination and manual dexterity.

    + Color, peripheral and depth perception, required.

    + Shift work.

    + Normal hearing, required.

    + Work environment of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat.

    + Exposure to noise hazard.

    + Wear protective clothing or other safety equipment, required.

    + Handle required/approved hazardous material(s) as per material safety data (MSD).

    Travel

    • As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
