Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing HV-NTP-9866
In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
Qualifications for Employment
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in relevant major, Communications, Business, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field OR Associate degree in relevant major plus six (6) years of experience. Experience working in teams involving multiple departments also required.
Nature and Scope of Duties
The Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing reports to the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing or designee and performs the following duties:
+ Works closely with colleagues in Communications and Marketing, Creative Services and Video and Multimedia Services to develop, support and implement a variety of internal and external communications and marketing initiatives.
+ Engages with college departments, offices, faculty and directors to identify promotional opportunities and coordinate related marketing efforts.
+ Contributes to internal daily news distribution, including writing articles, editing posts and managing distribution.
+ Supports production of college publications, including determining editorial content, writing and editing stories, and assigning projects as needed.
+ Writes and edits news releases, brochures, speeches, video scripts, web pages, advertisements and other collateral materials.
+ Develops media pitches and supports media-related events; cultivates relationships with local journalists; responds to reporter inquiries.
+ Contributes to social media and web content management, strategy and execution.
+ Provides supervision to Communications Specialist(s) and Technical Assistant on project management and content development and review.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a 12-month, full-time position with a salary of $55,000.
