    The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mission isMaking Lives Better Through Transportation.     Shift Requirements : 8:00-4:30 M-F in person, Schedule has some flexibility

     

    Our Equipment Services Section, within the Resources and Acquisitions Bureau, is seeking aResources and Acquisitions Analyst, Management Analyst 3. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality, precise work. They will also possess the ability to tailor their communication style to suit various audiences effectively.

    As aResources and Acquisitions Analyst, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

    + Managing and maintaining the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) fleet management system, Fleetio. Ensuring timely identification and resolution of software issues, adherence to vehicle service intervals, and accurate meter reporting.

    + Providing comprehensive fleet analytics and performance insights to both internal and external stakeholders, including Iowa DOT executives, legislators, and federal agencies.

    + Overseeing the annual physical inventory of DOT vehicles and equipment, guiding technology adoption, and monitoring vehicle replacement schedules to ensure efficient fleet operations.

    + Delivering training to operators and fleet users on advanced technologies—such as GPS, AVL, and camera systems—to enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall safety.

    + Developing and maintaining accurate reports and documentation related to architectural projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting continual improvement in infrastructure and fleet management.

    + Other activities as needed, assisting the Resources and Acquisitions Bureau.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

    + Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations.

    + All of the following (a and b):

    + Three years of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations; and

    + A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.

    + All of the following (a, b, and c):

    + One year of full-time work experience in project management; management analysis; data science; business systems analysis; or professional-level program administration, development, or operations; and

    + A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and

    + A total of two years of graduate-level education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university coursework in business administration, industrial management, statistics, natural science, or a closely-related field equals one year of full-time experience.

    + Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as a Management Analyst 2 or two and a half years as a Management Analyst 1.
