    Position Summary

    University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.

     

    The Director of Development, Global Philanthropy will develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth international donors and prospects, with the goal of achieving progressively ambitious fundraising goals, securing gifts in the 6-7 figure range. Partner with UDAR leadership, deans, lead fundraisers, and University leadership to design and execute region-specific donor engagement and major gift fundraising strategies. The position will involve frequent international travel and require a strong understanding of the NYU global network, cultural dynamics, and policies and regulations related to philanthropy. Cultivate long-term relationships with international stakeholders in the assigned regions, identify new funding opportunities, and provide strategic guidance to ensure alignment with NYU’s global objectives and priorities.

    Qualifications

    Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree or completion of a fundraising certificate programRequired Experience:7+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and educationRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

     

    Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others

     

    Working knowledge of various software applications

     

    Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite

     

    Ability to travel internationallyPreferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong verbal and written communications skills, intellectual curiosity and interest about topics related to the University's funding priorities, engaging conversationalist, active listener, ability to demonstrate empathy

     

    Prior experience in major gift fundraising within global markets and/or higher education settings

     

    Proficiency in and understanding of diverse cultures, languages, customs, as well as fundraising laws and best practices, particularly in Europe and Latin America

     

    Additional Information

     

    In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $165,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
