UPMC is hiring a Behavioral Health Counselor to support Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough.
The purpose of this job is to provide clinical treatment services to patients in a community, inpatient, or outpatient/ambulatory setting. The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide services to patients with diagnoses who meet criteria for behavioral health treatment.
This is a hybrid position. The incumbent will spend the first few weeks in this role training on site in McKeesport, PA. After the training period, the incumbent can expect to spend about 50% of the time traveling locally to the residential homes. When not in the field, the incumbent will work primarily remotely. Free parking is available on site.
The ideal candidate will be independent, adaptable, independent, and an excellent communicator. Must be able to work with individuals with a disability and train staff on behavior supports and behavior plans.
Responsibilities:
+ **Administrative and Documentation Duties:** Complete all required departmental paperwork and documentation in accordance with established policies. Participate in interagency team meetings to support coordinated care.
+ **Service Delivery and Coordination:** Address and resolve issues related to service delivery. Assist with care coordination to ensure high-quality services for clients and families. Facilitate referrals for additional clinical services during treatment and at discharge.
+ **Clinical Assessment and Planning:** Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA). Develop Positive Behavior Support Plans based on assessment findings, under supervision. Continuously evaluate and update behavior plans to ensure effectiveness.
+ **Therapeutic Services:** Provide individual and family therapy in various settings (community, inpatient, outpatient). Deliver direct care to assigned patients.
+ **Supervision and Team Collaboration:** Provide clinical supervision to assigned staff through individual, group, and onsite formats. Lead and participate in treatment team meetings. Ensure staff implement behavior plans with fidelity.
+ **Clinical Expertise and Development:** Demonstrate proficiency in behavior support techniques and structured clinical assessment tools. Interpret and communicate assessment results and treatment recommendations to families and professionals. Develop expertise in: Child, adolescent, and adult psychopathology, crisis intervention, de-escalation and behavioral therapy
+ **Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Actively coordinate and liaise with other service providers and professionals to support holistic care.
+ Masters degree in Psychology; Child Development; Applied Behavior Analysis; Early Intervention; Education; Special Education; Instruction in Learning; Social Work or a related field.
+ One year of clinical experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of behavior principles, evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Behavior Specialist Licensure and/or Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, National Certified Counselor, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, Alcohol Highway Safety Schools Instructor or other similar Behavioral Health license/certification preferred.
