Somerset Health Services is seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Somerset Allergy Office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients in a specialized outpatient setting, supporting allergy care and treatment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable performing both clinical and administrative duties.

*Final candidate will be placed in appropriate title and compensation based on individual experience and education.

Responsibilities:

+ Organize daily schedules and patient flow to ensure timely care.

+ Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with mobility, dressing, and specimen collection.

+ Collect patient history, vital signs, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.

+ Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one lab procedures.

+ Assist physicians with procedures and document patient information in the medical record.

+ Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision.

+ Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment according to infection control protocols.

+ Answer phone calls and provide patient education and support as directed.

+ Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts and documentation.

+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations.

+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.

+ Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

+ Act 33 with renewal

+ Act 34 with renewal

+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
