Your Job:
The Cash Application Specialist will provide excellent customer service, accurately posting payments and handling reconciliation of patient accounts. You will post and balance accounts receivable insurance and patient payments while resolving payment disputes in a timely manner.
Your Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma and minimum one year relevant experience
• 1 year medical payment posting
• Ability to analyze Explanation of Benefits statements
• Strong knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel; ten key by touch
• Excellent oral and written skills.
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Accurately post and allocate all payments per vendor or payer details to patient accounts.
• Ensures accuracy of cash application by balancing deposit totals to system-generated reports.
• Accurately post all details per explanation of benefits for manually posted remits.
• Adhere to all departmental deadlines for posting payments.
• Work closely with various parties (patients, insurance companies, co-workers) to quickly address and resolve issues identified.
• Investigate unidentified cash and resolve misdirected payments.
• Repost or resolve undistributed payments based on timeframe established by department.
• Resolve or redirect clearing account balances based on timeframe established by department.
• Keep current documentation of workflows and responsibilities for position.
• Cross-train to all other duties within the department
• Other duties as assigned.
