    Customer location in Thousand Oaks, California

    Discover Impactful Work:

    Drive excellence in the Media Sciences program through right-the-first-time preparation of custom media formulations, compliance adherence, safe lab techniques, and client satisfaction. Champion innovation and practical process improvement in the laboratory

     

    A day in the Life:

    + Complete tasks supporting media and buffer preparation operations (e.g. aseptic filtration, transport of materials, client communication, restocking, chemical inventory, equipment calibration, labeling, housekeeping, basic calculations, matching procedures)

    + Perform review of technical documentation, equipment logbooks, and other documentation as needed

    + Maintain laboratory areas in a high state of inspection preparedness.

    + Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs, and Work Instructions and support other duties as assigned

    Keys to Success:

    Education

    + Associate’s Degree with an emphasis in a scientific subject area, or high school degree/GED with 1-2 years of laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

    Experience

    Experience in a laboratory setting, validated excellence in customer service required, experience handling chemicals preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    + Attention to detail; technical problem-solving skills; and ability to multi-task. Problem solver, promotes a team setting.

    + Trained in basic laboratory safety.

    + Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Excellent customer service skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and confident working in systems and databases.

    + Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work independently within customer location.

    + Walking/standing for 75-85% of the day.

    + May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).

    + Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $16.78–$25.16.
