The Position
Casework Management Specialists provide case management services for children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar residential setting.
Incumbents act as a lead-worker on a regular and reoccurring basis over a staff of lower-level Casework Management Specialist 3, 2 and 1 positions.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist 4 in the Quality Assurance and Training Unit, located in one of our Rural Child Welfare offices. Locations can include Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Pahrump, Winnemucca or Yerington. This position is responsible for the quality assurance, quality improvement and training of Child Welfare staff region wide. They will monitor the different program areas throughout the Rural Region for quality and compliance to ensure programs are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with federal/state laws and agency policies and procedures. Incumbents will develop and implement training programs by creating training curriculum, materials, and methods; establish training schedules; provide on-site assistance for staff, supervisors, managers, and community Stakeholders. Casework Management Specialist 4 will perform field casework alone or in a training capacity as lead worker, provide comprehensive reports from specific management requests concerning substantive changes in practice and procedures and participate in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes in child welfare. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, gerontology, or closely related social science or human services related field and three years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children or vulnerable and/or older adults in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Positions require a valid driver's license, or equivalent mobility, at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
