    The Position

    Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

     

    The Department of Public Safety Director's Office is recruiting for an Administrative Services Officer 3 at Carson City Headquarters. The incumbent oversees fiscal operations for multiple budget accounts, forfeitures/seizures, and department payroll and assists with departmental contracts, evidence, and research and planning technology management. The incumbent will develop and implement goals and objectives, review and evaluate outcomes and results, assess unit effectiveness and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and recommend solutions to operational problems. They will also formulate, develop, and administer the Director's Office cost allocated budget; assist in the preparation and review of the Department's budgetary submissions; prepare and present oral and written responses to the Director's Office, Governor's Finance Office, Legislative bodies, and Executive Branch boards; oversee the preparation and maintenance of monthly budget status reports, financial reports, contracts, and leases; and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls in all areas of budget management and fiscal operations.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and five years of professional experience including two years of responsibility for two or more major business operations such as grants administration, contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, human resources, Information Technology, or facilities maintenance and construction; and three years of experience formulating, developing and analyzing agency budgets; and fiscal management, one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
