Now Hiring: Diesel Mechanic – First Student | Anniston City Schools, AL
**Location:** First Student – Anniston City, AL
**Schedule:** Full-Time | Monday–Friday
**Starting Pay:** $25.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
First Student is now hiring an experienced **Diesel Mechanic** to join our dedicated team in **Anniston City, Alabama** , servicing and maintaining our fleet of **school buses** for the local school district.
**Important:** This is a **Diesel Mechanic** position. Applicants must have previous diesel mechanic experience and be **21 years of age or older** due to CDL requirements.

What You’ll Do
+ Maintain and repair **diesel-powered school buses** to ensure student safety
+ Diagnose and service brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, transmissions, and electrical systems
+ Complete detailed and timely work orders
+ Provide occasional mobile emergency repairs
+ Ensure all work complies with DOT and safety standards
Qualifications
+ **Must be 21 years of age or older** (due to CDL requirements)
+ **Minimum of 2 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience** required
+ Valid driver’s license with a willingness to obtain a CDL (we provide CDL training)
+ Must have a personal set of mechanic’s tools
+ Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork
+ Interest in continuing professional development through ASE certifications
