Summary This position is part of the Office of the General Counsel in the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. As the Agency's Corporate Secretary, you will be responsible for the effective management of all matters related to the Board of Directors, Board Committees, DFC's Annual Public Hearing, Public Hearings in Conjunction with each Board Meeting, the Investment Committee, the Credit Committee, the Equity Evaluation Committee, and the Funds Evaluation Committee. . Responsibilities Serves as the primary DFC contact for members of the DFC Board of Directors Monitors the nomination and confirmation process for Directors, to include coordinating with the White House Coordinates with program managers and senior management throughout DFC to ensure that strategic objectives, goals, and priorities of the CEO and Board are disseminated throughout DFC and incorporated into management plans and operations Oversees the effective, efficient, and smooth running of the Corporation's Board meetings, Board Committee meetings, Annual Public Hearing, Public Hearings in conjunction with each Board meeting, and internal Investment Committee and Credit Committee meetings, ensuring that all Board and Meeting-related activities adhere to DFC's statutory requirements, DFC's Bylaws, Sunshine Act requirements, and internal policy guidelines Please Note: This is not a Bargaining unit position. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to 1) Evaluate program issues and implement improvements to administrative and management procedures, principles, and processes; 2) Manage, support, and advise boards, committees or similar organizational units and their operations, to include preparing, reviewing, and organizing a variety of materials for senior decision makers; and 3) Advise agency or organizational leadership, Board members and liaisons, and other external stakeholders on governance and compliance guidelines, policies, procedures, and requirements, such as statutory requirements; authorizing language provisions and requirements; internal policies and organizational structure; Board procedures and protocol; and Bylaws provisions. Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
