Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Detail-oriented and results-driven Process Engineer focused on optimizing and supporting production processes within our metal manufacturing facility. This role entails analyzing, designing, implementing, and improving production methods to enhance efficiency, ensure product quality, and reduce costs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
/ Demonstrate a proactive approach to acquiring new skills and knowledge.
/ Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
/ Maintain a well-organized workspace and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
/ Analyze and evaluate current production processes in powder and ingot manufacturing (e.g., atomization, melting and casting).
/ Identify and implement process improvements to optimize productivity, quality, and safety.
/ Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
/ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, quality, R&D) to resolve technical issues and implement best practices.
/ Monitor and analyze process data, conduct root cause analysis for deviations, and initiate corrective actions.
/ Support new product development and scaling up pilot processes to full production.
/ Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
/ Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
/ Proven experience in a similar role.
/ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
/ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
/ High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
/ Familiarity with quality tools and statistical analysis (SPC, FMEA, DOE).
/ Proficient in CAD, process simulation software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
/ Knowledge of ISO 9001 .
Education and Experience:
/ Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
/ 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal production.
/ Strong understanding of metalworking processes such as smelting, forming, machining, and finishing.
/ Experience with automation and control systems (PLCs, SCADA).
/ Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma is a plus.
Physical Demands:
/ The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, hear and talk.
/ The employee is frequently required to use hands.
/ The employee occasionally will be required to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
/ The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
/ The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary Description
$65,000 - $100,000 Annually DOE
