    Please read attached job description for more detailed information.Bilngual Community LiaisonESC- Educational Service Center located in the Omni Centre260 Days/Year, Year-Round7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (includes a 60 minute unpaid lunch break)Starts at $21.80 per hour (may increase based on experience)Provide as-needed services for English Language Learners (ELL) and Spanish-speaking families to strengthen the relationship between home, school, and the language minority communities.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    + Required: Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education or associate degree in human services or education

    + Preferred: Bachelor’s degree

    + Required: Minimum of two years experience working with bilingual families and communities

    + Preferred: Experience working in an educational setting or with children

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential duties must be performed on-site. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.

    + Welcome new ELL students as they arrive at school.

    + Assist new ELL students and families in adjusting to the United States schools, cultures and lifestyles.

    + Assist with planning and facilitating bilingual parent groups and activities at assigned schools

    + Assist and facilitate in-home visits as needed.

    + Assist with oral and written communication between families and school staff.

    + Provide translation services for school-related matters.

    + Provide translation services for the Special Education Department.

    + Coordinate translation services for schools/families.

    + Serve as a cultural resource for the District

    + Participate in professional learning opportunities as assigned

    + Maintain strict confidentiality regarding families and students

    + Build and maintain professional and harmonious working relationships with students, staff and the community.
