PeaceHealth is seeking a Charge Capture Reviewer - Hospital Coding for a **Full time remote. Must live in OR, WA, AK. TX**
Job Summary
Acts as an expert resource for auditing and training in support of accuracy and appropriateness of coding and charge capture using ICD-10 and CPT industry and PeaceHealth standards.
Essential Functions
+ Performs chart/coding audits as required by Coding System regulatory policies and procedures and according to established internal coding and charge capture audit plan.
+ Participates in development of action plans to include follow up education on identified issues with subsequent audit and reassessment.
+ Performs charge capture coding, production coding, trauma and edit review, observation charge validation, and Method II charge capture and review.
+ Serves as an expert resource for CPT as it affects coding, billing, compliance and reimbursement.
+ Assists with re-training efforts because of coding and charge capture errors found. Delivers training and standards as directed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
+ Accredited Program Required: Coding. or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
Experience
+ Minimum of 2 years Required: Acute charge capture and coding experience and
+ Required: Knowledge of CPT coding for all specialties and
+ Required: Knowledge of Medicare/Oregon, Alaska, Washington Medicaid, and various commercial payer rules and guidelines
Credentials
+ Required: Certified Coding Associate through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Registered Health Information Administrator through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Registered Health Information Technician through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Certified Coding Specialist through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Certified Professional Coder through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Certified Professional Coder - Hospital through AHIMA/AAPC or
+ Required: Certified Outpatient Coder through AHIMA/AAPC
Skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills including sensitivity to other cultures and ethnicities. (Required)
+ Strong analytical skills. (Required)
+ Previous training experience and curriculum design a plus. (Required)
+ Excellent ability for conceptual thinking, good listening, problem resolution and planning skills. (Required)
+ Excellent organizational skills. (Required)
+ Knowledge of Epic and 3M software preferred. CAC exposure. (Preferred)
+ Ability to work with basic office equipment. (Required)
+ Ability to work well independently and in a remote environment. (Required)

Lifting
+ Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
+ Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
+ Sedentary work.
Environmental Conditions
+ Predominantly operates in an office environment.
Mental/Visual
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
+ The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $26.70 – $40.06. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
