Lead Quality Control Coordinator

Responsibilities:
+ Assure production material is tested in a timely manner
+ Assure the correct product specification is used and documented
+ Analyze all test reports noting unusual variation (or high ranges in test data) and follow-up appropriately
+ Assure critical test properties (weight, thickness, & color) are tested within 20 minutes of receiving the sample.
+ Assures the new order checklist and hourly sample review checklist have been completed and placed in the proper location.
+ Assures daily housekeeping (including the tufting room) is maintained per shift
+ Assures the quality presentation is available and ready for the 7:45 daily quality meeting
+ Performs sampling and testing of Spunbond Fabrics including:
+ Cuts samples for testing
+ Prepared tufted sample by sewing fabric pieces together for tufting and tufts fabric for tufted portion of sample
+ Re-tests any 'out of control' or 'out of spec' test
+ Rack test from tufted fabric
+ Grab and tongue tests from tufted fabric
+ Ensures the Lubricant samples are taken every shift
+ Tests special requests on occasion
+ Assures online weight, thickness, and color calibrations are updated for all three lines for every test sample
+ Notifies Line Supervisor of any 'out of control' or 'out of spec' test results
+ Visually inspects the rolls for correct packaging and put-up
+ Assists the line in Startups and Shutdowns if needed
+ Releases rolls in QPDC that have good test results
+ Prepares and presents in morning Quality meeting
+ Trains an additional backup to fill-in in case of absence
Qualifications:
+ High School diploma.
+ Ability to work a rotating seven-day schedule (12-hour shifts).
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs. waist high on a regular basis.
+ Ability to climb to 30 feet on a regular basis.
+ Ability to read and understand manuals and handbooks (written or on computer screens).
+ Basic math skills, i.e., calculating whole numbers, metrics, decimals and fractions.
+ Mechanical aptitude highly desired.
+ Basic computer skills (data entry and retrieval).
+ Strong verbal communications skills.
+ Logical thinking/reasoning skills.
+ Prior Manufacturing Experience a plus.
+ Ability to work as a team member of a work team in the effective operation of complex machinery in a safe manner
+ Preferred candidates for this position are those with 1 to 2 years of QCC experience.
