    Responsible for the accurate and prompt processing of clinical specimens to the technical sections. Assists Supervisor in complex problem solving to ensure tests are correctly ordered, that specimens are referred to the correct reference laboratory, and that reference laboratory results are correctly reported. Assists with the training/orientation for new procedures and/or personnel.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Successful completion of an official Medical Laboratory Procedures course of at least 50 weeks -or-

    + Associate Degree in a biological science -or-

    + Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution.

    + Extensive, comparable, and proven experience in a similar environment may be considered in lieu of education.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Medical Laboratory Technician

    + 1 year experience in clinical laboratory setting or a large Specimen Processing department.
