    As a Wet Etch Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of a collaborative team of equipment and process engineers responsible for the startup, optimization, and sustained performance of wet etch equipment. Your primary focus will be on hands-on tool ownership—ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting manufacturing excellence in a cleanroom environment.

     

    This role involves diagnosing and resolving equipment-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, and SPC. You will also coordinate equipment evaluations, upgrades, and maintenance activities to support yield improvement, cost reduction, and risk mitigation goals.

    Responsibilities:

    + Own and manage wet etch equipment performance, including uptime, throughput, and reliability.

    + Trouble-shoot and resolve equipment issues using root cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools.

    + Lead and support tool installations, qualifications, and hardware upgrades.

    + Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and documentation.

    + Collaborate with vendors and multi-functional teams to implement tool improvements and modifications.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and productivity.

    + Support process integration and yield improvement through equipment reliability and stability.

    + Analyze equipment data to identify trends, predict failures, and optimize performance.

    + Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a proactive safety culture.

    + Train and mentor technicians and engineers on established methods for equipment.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + 3+ years ofhands-on wet etch equipment engineering experiencein a semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom environment.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with wet etch toolsets such as Screen LAM, PSK, TEL, or similar platforms.

    + Strong understanding of chemical delivery systems, wafer handling, and tool automation.

    + Familiarity with SPC, FDC, and other equipment monitoring and control systems.

    + Consistent track record of driving equipment-related cost reduction or uptime improvement projects.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering and manufacturing teams.
