    Join the Raytheon legal team as a Director and Senior Counsel, with the opportunity to support a portfolio of senior functional leaders and to solve some of the world’s most challenging and complex problems. The Director will report to the Director, Lead Functional and Governance Counsel and will provide legal support to multiple senior functional leaders and sit on their leadership teams. The Director will be responsible for delivering timely, relevant, and pragmatic legal, business, and strategic advice to programs and functional teams to help achieve their objectives. Critical to this role is the candidate’s ability to quickly establish and maintain trust and foster positive relationships with key business and functional leaders.

    What You Will Do

    + Collaborate with functional and business leaders to understand their needs and goals, near and long term, and provide the necessary legal support to enable successful execution of said goals

    + Provide direct legal support to several of Raytheon’s functional organizations, including Environmental Health & Safety, Quality and Mission Assurance, Product Safety, Security, Digital Technology, Facilities, Communications, and other functions and major initiatives

    + Advise on relevant U.S. and foreign laws, as applicable, i.e. facility issues, applicable regulatory bodies and frameworks, etc.

    + Collaborate with RTX, Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney functional leaders to ensure alignment and share best practices

    + Present on legal topics for various purposes and audiences (e.g., presenting legal matters to senior business or Legal team leadership, training business or legal personnel)

    + Manage outside counsel and the general counsel budget for matters in your purview

    + Some domestic and international travel (10-20%)

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + Typically requires 12+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including 5+ years of legal experience in the aerospace and defense industry

    + Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school

    + Currently admitted and in good standing with at least one U.S. State bar, and eligible to represent Raytheon as an in-house legal counsel in the job location

    + Active security clearance, or ability to obtain a clearance

    + Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and ability to communicate complex matters effectively and persuasively

    + Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail

    + Well-organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload and drive issues to timely conclusions

    + Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively in a team environment with multiple levels of organization and foster positive working relationships with peers, internal clients and external customers

    The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
