POSITION SUMMARY:
The Integration Developer will design, develop and maintain COTA's robust data infrastructure and data integration pipelines. This role is essential in enabling seamless data integration across operational systems, ridership analytics, fare collection/validation, scheduling, employee experience, and customer service platforms. The Integration Developer plays a key role in connecting transit operational systems (e.g., CAD/AVL, APC, fare collection and validation, GTFS feeds, scheduling software) with enterprise data analytics platforms, planning, reporting, and public-facing tools.
Perform other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Design and develop batch and near-real-time integrations for on-premises, SaaS, and cloud-based systems.
+ Create ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF).
+ Build Power BI datasets to enable data analysts to generate insights from Snowflake and SQL Server data.
+ Implement database-to-database or API-based integrations utilizing the SQL Server ecosystem.
+ Integrate source systems (e.g., CAD/AVL, APC, Infor GTFS) into Snowflake data warehouses.
+ Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and automate recovery processes to minimize business impact.
+ Migrate legacy SQL Server-based integrations to Azure ADF.
+ Collaborate with vendors, partners, and business units to identify suitable integration solutions.
+ Work with data architects and analysts to translate data needs into technical solutions.
+ Participate in Agile development processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
+ Ensure integrations are secure, reliable, and cost-effective by working with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams.
+ Adhere to best practices, including DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), unit testing, and source code versioning.
+ Document integration architecture, design, logic, data mappings, and processes according to organizational standards (e.g., COTA).
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and three (3) years' experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, Snowflake, and/or APIs. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
+ SnowPro® Associate: Platform Certification desired.
+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate desired.
