    Overview

     

    Job Title: Machinist

     

    Job Location: Williamsport, PA

     

    Under close supervision, operates a limited number of hand tools and shop equipment to perform routine machining operations in the making of parts.

    Responsibilities

    + DeburringpartsBuffer-Tumbler-Under-Scope-Benchwork

    + Performslesscompletemachineoperationsoralimitednumberofmachinetoolssuchas drill presses, lathes powersaws, shears, grinders, punchpresses, honingmachines, etc.

    + Performsmachineoperationsundersupervision,andallworkis frequentlychecked.

    + Willchangeand/orsharpencuttingtoolduringoperations,assupervised.

    + Willbe required to maintaintolerances by the use ofdialindicators,micrometers,pin gauges and other measuring equipment.

    + Required to read/understand simple blueprints (i.e.OD/ID, material requirements,limittolerances).

    + Notifiesappropriatepersonnelofanyknownoperationorprocessirregularities.

    + Maintainsequipmentfordailyuseandkeepsworkingareasafe,cleanandorderly.

    + Willmakesimplesetupsundersupervision.

    + Reads,understandsandadherestoShopSafetyRegulations.

    + Performsotherdutiesasassigned.

    Qualifications

    + High School diploma or equivalent

    + Minimumofsix(6)monthsorlessshopequipmentoperationexperience.

    + Mustdemonstratemanualdexterity.

    + Abletounderstand/followwrittenandverbalinstructions.

    + Shop math requirements such as understanding high school mathematics,familiarly withandunderstanding measuringscales,andabletoconvertfractions todecimals.
