Summary:
Meta is seeking a Research Engineer to join our Media Generation Data Research team. We are looking for experts in audiovisual generation models; with experience in areas like vision encoders, data filtering/curation for pre and post-training, RLHF, responsible AI and model controllability. The ideal candidate will have an interest in producing and applying new science/systems/technologies to help us develop and responsibly release media generation models.

AI Research Engineer, Media Generation (Audio / Video) - Generative AI Responsibilities:
1. Lead, collaborate, and execute on developing scalable and effective data curation, model development and eval systems that push forward the state of the art in multimodal reasoning and generation research
2. Work towards long-term research/development goals, while identifying intermediate milestones
3. Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results
4. Work with a large team
5. Mentor other team members and play a significant role in healthy cross-functional collaboration
6. Prioritize research and development that can be applied to Meta's product development
Minimum Qualifications:

7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
8. 5+ year experience in AI
9. Experience holding an industry, faculty, or government researcher position
10. Publications in areas of machine learning, computer vision, NLP, or audio
11. Experience with software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets
12. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

13. PhD in the field of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
14. Direct experience in generative AI for video / audio
15. First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL)
16. Fluent in Python and PyTorch
Public Compensation:
$85.10/hour to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
