POSITION DETAILS
New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is a comprehensive college offering associate and bachelor’s degree programs in a downtown Brooklyn. The Office of Student Life & Development is accepting applications for a Student Activities Coordinator at the Assistant to HEO rank.
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Life & Development, the Student Activities Coordinator will plan, organize and implement co-curricular and extracurricular activities and programs for students. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting student organizations with programming, and coordinating events at the College.
The Coordinator will support the creation of innovative outreach activities to promote Student Life & Development programs, including collaborating with campus student organizations. The Student Activities Coordinator serves to help create a positive and engaging learning environment that contributes to the overall success of the student body at City Tech.
The Student Activities Coordinator responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
+ Assist in the overall coordination of undergraduate student co-curricular programming, advising student leaders, and promoting the personal development of a diverse student population and provide leadership to Student Activities team.
+ Provide administrative and logistical assistance for ongoing activities and events including New Student Orientation, Welcome Week activities, Commencement, student organization events, and other Student Life & Development events.
+ Assist with financial record keeping and financial transactions: e.g., Management of the budget and requisitioning of payments related to student activities on campus.
+ Coordination and evaluation of all student activity events, conferring frequently with the Director of Student Life and Development, Public Safety, and other college offices.
+ Participation in the delivery of professional development for SLD Peer Navigators; club leaders and club faculty advisors; and Student Government Association members.
+ Support the planning and implementation of all on-and-off campus events for student clubs and organization, space requests, tabling requests, including weekends, and chaperone various student domestic trips on behalf of the college.
+ May also provide direct evening and weekend support for Student Activities and college events, including equipment and supply planning, and serving as a student chaperone.
+ Represent the College in campus-wide and university-wide groups and councils focusing on priority student issues.
+ As assigned, evaluate student needs and trends, produce regular surveys, and develop and administer specific programs and general activities in response to outcome data.
+ Tracking and evaluation of student participation in SLD programs and events utilizing City Tech Connect co-curricular management system/student engagement platform (CampusGroups).
+ Act as an advisor to Student Government Association.
+ Perform related duties as assigned by the Director.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours, is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Two years’ experience in in higher education student services, such as advisement, student governance, or student life, is highly desirable.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in online communication.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and work both independently and as part of a team.
+ Effective time management and organizational skills.
+ Familiarity with social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms.
+ Prior experience planning and assisting with special events.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$57,517 - $70,541. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will increase by approximately 9.54%, with an additional increase of 3.5% effective 9/1/2026, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
