In this position, you will coordinate Metro District’s implementation of MnDOT’s (ADA) transition plan and provide critical interdisciplinary expertise to the planning, programming, and preliminary design of trunk highway projects that further multimodal state and regional transportation goals and priorities.
This position leads Metro District’s ADA planning and programming integration through:
+ Analyzing existing pedestrian asset data collection
+ Evaluating existing processes and developing project development process improvements related to planning, programming and preliminary design
+ Managing consultant contracts, studies, and providing direction to internal staff.
+ Coordinating with Metro District and Central Office staff
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position is located at district headquarters in Roseville and has the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of advanced professional planning experience that demonstrates the following:
+ Experience applying current best practices and guidance to transportation planning, context-appropriate facility design, and ADA compliance within capital investment projects.
+ Knowledge of planning principles and practices of research and analysis techniques sufficient to formulate study design and methodology and to coordinate and direct work of consultants and interdisciplinary task forces.
+ Experience working with state and local agencies, governmental and professional associations, business interests, advocates, the public, and others involved in multimodal transportation planning processes.
Note: A bachelor's/master’s degree in planning, policy, public administration, political science may substitute for 6 months of advanced professional transportation planning experience.
