    Overview

     

    General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Manufcaturing Engineer I to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow.

     

    GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

     

    Position Location Detail: This position is located at our GD Lincoln West facility.

    Major Position Responsibilities

     

    + Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

    + Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

    + Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

    + Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

    + Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.

    + Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.

    + Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.

    Basic Qualifications

    Associate's Degree & 0-3 years experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education &/or exerience.

     

    Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
