Description
ARS is seeking Senior Equipment Specialist to serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert supporting Air Force weapon systems and associated equipment. This role requires an active Secret clearance and involves providing advanced technical expertise to senior leaders, maintenance technicians, and integrated product teams (IPTs) to ensure combat effectiveness and operational readiness of assigned aircraft systems. The successful candidate will conduct complex technical analysis, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and provide recommendations for corrective actions with Air Force-wide implications.

Responsibilities include:
+ Support program requirements using specialized databases including D043, CAV AF, Fedmall, JEDMICS, ETIMS, and Haystack to identify problem areas and develop solutions
+ Serve as technical advisor to senior leadership and maintenance personnel on weapon system operations, maintenance, and training
+ Conduct comprehensive studies, reviews, and analysis of technical problems and malfunctions from various sources including TARs, DRs, AFTO Forms, and aircraft mishaps
+ Evaluate and recommend corrective actions for technical adequacy and economic feasibility
+ Support all levels of program IPTs including engineering, program management, and military/civilian leadership across multiple Air Force commands
+ Lead special research projects and provide technical support to Government equipment specialists and engineers
+ Support trial installations, kit proofs, and TCTO/technical data verification activities
+ Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to ensure system compatibility and operational requirements compliance
+ Mentor and oversee junior and journeyman personnel within the technical discipline
+ Coordinate with prime contractors, subcontractors, and other Government/private sector personnel
+ Other duties as assigned
Key Technical Skills/Qualifications:
+ Must be US Citizen
+ Must have an active Secret Security Clearance
+ Advanced knowledge of Air Force weapon systems and associated equipment
+ Expertise in aircraft maintenance troubleshooting and repair methodologies
+ Proficiency with Air Force technical databases and information management systems
+ Technical data analysis and problem-solving capabilities
+ Understanding of TCTO development and technical order change processes
+ Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and program management principles
+ Familiarity with Air Force maintenance forms and reporting procedures
+ Systems integration and compatibility assessment experience
+ Technical writing and documentation skills
+ Project management and team leadership abilities
Education Requirements:
+ Master's degree (MA/MS) and 12 years of experience in relevant technical/professional discipline, with 5 years in DoD
+ Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 15 years of experience in relevant technical/professional discipline, with 5 years in DoD
+ 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, with 8 years in DoD
