Accounting Manager-Carmel, IN (Hybrid)

Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager serves as a business partner to Business Unit Controllers, Finance and Non-Finance Partners as well as International Finance Affiliates. This role is responsible for maintaining multiple subledgers for Americas Business Units as well as the allocation of Corporate shared service activities. In addition, this role ensures reporting entities’ general ledger yield accurate and meaningful information to aid in management decisions and are in compliance with GAAP and applicable company policy (FICAP). The position will have a direct report with responsibilities for managing month end activities and staff development.
A successful Accounting Manager at Allegion has a mindset focused on compliance, accuracy and efficiency, can consistently apply policies and procedures, and enjoys learning and collaborating with others. A successful candidate must also be able to multi-task a variety of high priority tasks while adhering to deadlines.
What You Will Do:
+ Serve as a well-respected business partner and financial resource to assigned business units
+ Serve as subject matter expert for fixed assets related questions from multiple finance leaders
+ Manage multiple subledgers and general ledgers and various fixed asset modules
+ Manage monthly closing activities to include preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis, and reporting for assigned business units
+ Collaborate with finance leadership on capital projects spend, ensure projects are closed timely, and assist with the resolution of reconciling items
+ Manage monthly Fixed Assets activities for multiple business units, including processing and accounting for fixed asset capitalizations, disposals, and depreciation
+ Accountable for management of one Accountant, including intercompany accounting, fixed assets, journal entry and reconciliation responsibility, as well as career development
+ Inter-Company & Intra-Company accounting and reconciliation responsibility between assigned business units and other Allegion entities
+ Develop advanced data analysis tools to manipulate large volume of data, including regular usage of Microsoft’s PowerBI platform
+ Work in multiple businesses and ERP systems. Help to troubleshoot issues related as well as participate in ERP implementations as needed
+ Drive productivity initiatives, process improvement, and standardization across business units
_Compliance_
+ Responsible for monthly and quarterly SOX communications surrounding journal entries and reconciliations approvals for Americas business units
+ Provide support documents for internal and external audits related to assigned business units
+ Maintain a robust and effective internal control environment to ensure accounting procedures are compliant with GAAP and FICAP
+ Participate in Sarbanes Oxley testing reporting, with emphasis on prevention, elimination, and timely close-out of control deficiencies
+ Interpret, implement, and maintain divisional and corporate financial policies, practices and procedures, including provision of effective controls and audit capabilities
What You Need to Succeed:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
+ 3-5 years relevant accounting experience including general ledger, preferably in a manufacturing setting
+ Audit experience preferred
+ Proficient with utilizing technology such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI), HFM, and Oracle preferred
+ High level of attention to detail, prioritization, and multi-task in faced-paced environment
+ Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Mature communication style both oral and written
+ Experience with people or project leadership required
+ Business partnership experience required
+ Percentage of Travel: <5%
