Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary

The Product & Technology Organization at Valify defines and implements solutions that empower our customers, suppliers, and business partners to realize savings and drive improved clinical outcomes. If we do our jobs well, we lower costs for healthcare providers, enabling them to make care more affordable for all. In this position, you will:

+ Work in a dynamic, collaborative, transparent, non-hierarchal, and ego-free culture where your contribution is valued over a title.

+ Discover business problems, hypothesize solutions, and use data to quickly test, learn, and implement solutions that deliver value.

+ Minimize in-progress work by focusing on the most important thing

Major Responsibilities:

+ Implement custom reports, user dashboards, and other new features in a healthcare analytics web application

+ Maintain existing features and fix bugs

+ Develop back-end controllers, services, and repositories using Spring Boot and Java

+ Develop front-end components and services using Angular, CSS, and HTML

+ Write business queries and reports using PostgreSQL

+ Automate deployment and management of platforms using cloud technologies

+ Administer Linux servers and databases running in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment

+ Optimize performance of database queries and front- and back-end code

+ Diagnose and hotfix production issues when necessary

+ Participate in team meetings, retros, and code reviews

+ Contribute to shaping product requirements and code architecture

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

+ Development skills with Java, Angular, Python, and/or other similar languages

+ Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

+ Experience with Jenkins and Ansible a plus

+ Experience with Terraform a plus

+ Development experience with Postgres, including advanced features

+ Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or other VCS software

+ Basic familiarity with Linux environment and terminal

+ Experience in developing modern, scalable applications

+ Experience with ETL processes or Analytics/Reporting applications

+ Strong initiative, self-motivated, and able to drive results with minimal guidance

+ Comfortable with uncertainty, ambiguity, and change

+ Ability to proficiently handle tasks independently

+ A professional, relaxed, and enthusiastic attitude

+ Pragmatic focus on delivering business value, with a relentless focus on creating and measuring outcomes

+ Demonstrated ability to value team over individual success by focusing on collaboration and progress instead of dogma

+ Solid problem-solving and analytical skills

+ Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

+ Supply chain or healthcare industry experience a plus

+ Relevant Years Experience: 5Licenses & Certifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:

+ Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings or nights, in the case of emergencies or natural disasters

+ Ability to coordinate afterhours work with both internal staff and outside vendors, while working in an active hospital.

+ Strong problem-solving abilities, time management skills, with an attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination

+ Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

+ Ability to reference facility blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary and divulge meaningful information to appropriate technicians, contractors etc.

+ Proficient in major Microsoft office suite applications as well as CMMS software.
