Sr. Front-End Engineering Supervisor

Description
The Front End Engineer Supervisor plays a key results-oriented and technical skilled leadership role within the Knowles Precision Devices Division. This position leads a team of process engineers and technicians in the high-volume production of Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCC). The role focuses on ensuring process stability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting new product introductions at the Valencia, CA site.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of process engineers and technicians supporting front-end MLCC manufacturing.
+ Provide daily engineering support to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient production operations.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield enhancement, throughput optimization, and cost reduction.
+ Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and quality concerns.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and back-end Engineering to support new product introductions and process improvements.
+ Maintain and update process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
+ Support capital equipment planning, procurement, and installation to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
+ Monitor and analyze key process metrics to identify trends and proactively address potential issues.
+ Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business and operational needs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field required; an advanced degree is preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role with a proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers.
+ Experience in multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) manufacturing is highly desirable. Familiarity with ceramic material characterization, slurry formulation and casting, screen printing, stacking, and cutting processes is a strong plus.
+ Strong understanding of ceramic capacitor or electronic component manufacturing processes.
+ Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills.
+ Proficient in data analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and lean manufacturing methodologies.
+ Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Oracle is preferred.

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.
One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting pay for this role is targeted to be between $110,000 and $135,000 per year.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
