    Overview

     

    Provides oversight for certain administrative program functions necessary to support the delivery of system, administrative, and operational tasks of the Orthopaedics Service Line. Provides primary administrative support to physician leadership roles with the Orthopaedic Service Line, including but not limited to Vice Chairs and Section Chiefs. Oversees and partners with a team of employees responsible for CME, Fellowship/GME programs, and faculty recruitment and promotions. Functions as part of the department leadership team to ensure that administrative functions are aligned with the strategic goals of the department regionally.

    Responsibilities

    * Oversees centralized administrative support to the department leadership and cost centers within the department.

    * Participates in hiring, mentoring, coaching and training coordinator team.

    * Works with leadership team to help support strategic direction of the program, both locally and regionally.

    * Manages and tracks long-term operational goals.

    * Analyzes and presents budgetary risks, operations, research, and academics to leadership as required.

    * Organizes with immaculate detail the administrative functions of the Administrative Director, Vice Chair/Section Chief, and Department Chair offices.

    * Manages interviews and supports hiring of new staff including but not limited to Vice Chairs, Section Chiefs, Directors, and Practice Managers. In conjunction with the department Chair, supports a process to identify, on-board, and retain best possible candidates.

    * Oversees academic, discretionary, and philanthropy budgeting, reporting and auditing.

    * Ensures legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitored for compliance. Establishes handling and recording protocols to meet requirements of the Department of Orthopaedics, Orthopaedic Service Line and Geisel School of Medicine.

    * Identifies and proposes solutions for operational and personnel conflicts.

    * Participates with leadership stakeholders at weekly operational meetings.

    * Supervises and supports non-clinical resource staff in support of departmental operational, academic, and research leadership.

    * Manages departmental tracking of electronic resources.

    * Coordinates and manages cross-project activities.

    * Produces accurate and timely reporting of data around strategic goals and project improvement initiatives.

    * Reviews, identifies and secures resources required to meet the training needs of the administrative team.

    * Develops and controls deadlines for departmental activities.

    * Performs other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    * Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years or the equivalent in education and experience required.

    * Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience preferred.

    * Excellent organization, interpersonal, oral and writing skills required.

    * Exemplary leadership qualities.

    * The ability to relate and deal effectively with physicians, administrators, support staff, and the general public with a high degree of tact and discretion required.

    * Pay Range:$52,395.20/Yr. - $81,224.00/Yr. (Based on 40 hours per week, otherwise pro rata)
