Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
+ Washington State Teaching Certificate
+ Classroom teaching experience, including experience with inclusionary practices.
+ Experience teaching bicycling or other healthy activities to youth.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the telephone with students, families, teachers, other district staff, community partners and the general public in a professional manner.
+ Ability to schedule, coordinate, and maintain reports for the Cycling Program
+ Ability to keep accurate records and data concerning program functions and performance
+ Demonstrated ability working collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Proficiency working in a PC platform, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite applications
+ Demonstrated ability established priorities and working collaboratively in a dynamic work environment
+ Commitment to educational equity.
+ Experiences in (and passion for) youth development and enrichment (including intellectual, emotional and social growth).
+ Experience working with youth, especially between ages of 8 and 14.
+ Highly organized, detail-oriented and accountable with strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs in the form of moving bicycles to/from storage or on/off trucks and trailers.
+ Ability and willingness to work outdoors occasionally during all seasons.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience in multicultural education and cross-cultural community building.
+ Experience teaching new bike riders, with a focus on risk management.
+ Experience with and the ability to manage minor bike maintenance issues.
+ Ability to lead professional development opportunities, specifically leading bike trainings that focus on equity and risk management.
+ Public speaking experience, including advocacy work for the continuation of the bike program and its benefits for students.
+ Program management experience, including systems thinking, budget tracking and grant reporting.
Essential Functions:

+ Facilitate ongoing communication with all program partners and constituents.
+ Explore opportunities for program growth within the district through sustainable partnerships and contracts.
+ Collaborate with the Cascade Bicycle Club In-School Bicycle Education Program staff across program goals and objectives.
+ Evaluate and utilize best practices in technology and other resource management tools to improve programmatic practices.
+ Create, manage, and monitor the delivery and pick-up schedule of the bicycle unit for the district and participating schools. This includes collaborating with the school district, Bike Clark County, and Cascade Bicycle Staff..
+ Manage contract deliverables and alignment of contract outcomes.
+ Track and report program outcomes (e.g. # of schools, students, etc) and budgets.
+ Procure equipment as necessary.
+ Maintain a contract with Bike Clark County to maintain the trailers and bikes.
+ Facilitate in-class lessons in collaboration with the PE teacher or provide direct program support to implement the program as needed.
+ Ensure program quality control. This may include, but is not limited to: material and equipment inventory management, responding to material requests from teachers, traveling to schools to replenish curriculum materials, such as bikes, helmets, bike locks, curriculum signs and/or posters, etc.
+ Administer program data collection methods to support data driven decision making and program growth. Ensure the curriculum is viable, current and is being implemented with intentional scope, scale and goals by reviewing and synthesizing teacher and parent feedback.
+ Provide early input on the evaluation plan.
+ Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements.

+ Benefits/Compensation:
+ Salary range: $64,498 - $121,573 (includes Base & TRI enrichment; commensurate upon FTE, degree, credits and experience). Salary schedules can be accessed here (https://vansd.org/salary-schedules/) .
+ Additional Compensation: Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary range such as, but not limited to TRI professional learning, extended year days, extra appendix E supplemental days and professional development reimbursement. + Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (part-time employee accrual will be proportionate to their FTE).
