Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Associate Bursar, this position is responsible for the following:

+ Processes tuition waivers

+ Processes Third Party Contracts which require a billing statement to vendor

+ Process Student Assistantships.

+ Apply department-requested changes as needed during the semester.

+ Apply McNair awards to student accounts.

+ Acts as backup for Accounting Specialist B.

+ Assists students enrolling in the payment plan each semester.

+ Assist students who come into the office with questions.

+ Assists students and parents via phone and email.

+ Assist with Summer Orientation.

+ Other duties assigned by Bursar and Associate Bursar.

Minimum Education Requirements:

+ Two years of college credit.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

+ Four years of general accounting/bookkeeping experience. Additional related education may be exchanged for up to two years of required experience.

+ Must possess excellent office, organization, interpersonal and communication skills.

+ Computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

+ Must be able to work with a variety of people.

+ Ability to work with details, memory for oral and written directions, alertness, initiative, ability to plan and make decisions and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Hourly Rate: $15.78 (Additional pay dependent upon qualifications)

Work Hours:

+ Normal working hours

+ Overtime may be required in order to insure that work in completed in a timely manner

+ This position experiences a heavy workload at the beginning of the fall semester (August) and the spring semester (January). The nature of the workflow limits amount of vacation time in the months of January, July, August, November or December.
