    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer with a strong background in Sterling Order Management System (OMS) customization to join the team. This team focuses on providing applications to enhance the customer experience for their professional customer and focuses completely on backend development. This role will be instrumental in supporting both ongoing development and long-term transformation initiatives, including the eventual replacement of Sterling with a custom-built order management solution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Support and enhance the existing Sterling OMS, which has been deeply customized and in use for over 15 years.

     

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate legacy applications (70+ apps) from Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

     

    Participate in the rewrite of legacy applications, with a focus on backend development using Java and Spring Boot.

     

    Contribute to KTLO (Keep The Lights On) activities while also driving forward customer experience improvements.

     

    Serve as a key technical resource in understanding current Sterling functionality to inform future custom order management development.

     

    Work closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption during migrations.

     

    $57/hr to $70/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

     

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    5+ years of hands-on experience with Sterling OMS, including deep customization and lifecycle tracking.

     

    Strong Java development skills (not architecture-focused), with experience in Spring Boot.

     

    Experience with cloud platforms (GKE preferred but not required)

     

    Solid understanding of backend systems and microservices architecture.

     

    Familiarity with Oracle databases OR NoSQL technologies such as Elasticsearch and Cassandra.

     

    Proven ability to drive and support application migrations and modernizations. Previous experience working with Home Depot

     

    Strong communication and collaboration skills.

     

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision. null
