Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE Probationary - Middle School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a NYS certified Special Education Teacher at the Middle School. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who can inspire and engage students and will foster the love of learning for students with disabilities.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

+ Assessing students' strengths, needs, and abilities.

+ Developing lesson plans that meet the needs of individual students.

+ Working with a team of professionals, such as general education teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists to support student learning.

+ Coordination of instructional and behavioral plan implementation by paraprofessional staff.

+ Monitoring students' progress and making modifications to their educational plans as needed.

+ Communicating with families in a culturally responsive manner to keep them informed about their child's progress and needs.

+ Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records.

+ Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

The successful candidate will have a degree in special education, a valid NYS teaching certification, and experience working with students with disabilities. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are also essential.
