    Atlas is looking for a **Payroll Tax Manager** who will be responsible for managing and resolving all tax-related payroll notices and ensuring accurate filing and compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role oversees tax research, handles tax agency correspondence, maintains ADP SmartCompliance records, and ensures proper authorization documentation is in place.

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + **Tax Notice Resolution:**

    + Research and resolve federal/state tax notices from IRS, agencies, and ADP.

    + Verify notice details (company, tax period, quarter/year).

    + Reconcile tax discrepancies using ADP, agency portals, and SOD reports.

    + Coordinate with agencies, ADP tax support, and internal departments as needed.

    + **Tax Filing Compliance & Audit Support:**

    + Maintain and upload relevant documents into ADP SmartCompliance.

    + Ensure quarterly and annual payroll tax filings are accurate.

    + Monitor late filings, credit balances, and payment due notices.

    + **ADP SmartCompliance Oversight:**

    + Regularly review and update tax profile settings, authorizations, and pending amendments.

    + Track notices, amendments, and jurisdiction closures through the platform.

    + Follow best practices for reporting, documentation, and reconciliations.

    + **Annual/Quarterly Tax Responsibilities:**

    + Reconcile W-2s, Wage & Tax Registers, and Statements of Deposit.

    + Validate company ID numbers, applied-for IDs, and unemployment verification reports.

    + Archive tax records in compliance with data retention policies.

    + **Authorizations & Forms:**

    + Manage Power of Attorney (POA), Reporting Agent Authorization (RAA), and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) forms.

    + Ensure appropriate signoffs and submission to ADP and tax authorities

    Minimum requirements:

    + Experience in leading and managing a payroll department for a large corporation

    + Advanced computer literacy (specific proficiency in Word and Excel), desire to support new products and technologies, demonstrated practical and hands-on (can-do)

    + Extensive knowledge in Payroll - Accounting procedures and Payroll Tax Laws - Regulations

    + Other considerations a plus: BA or BS degree in business, finance, accounting or related field preferred but not required

    + Certified Payroll Professional designation, system implementation and/or process improvement experience, and M-A experience

    + Experience with ADP Vantage Experience in a Union environment

    + Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities and achieve results without close supervision is necessary

    + Self-motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    + Ability to operate independently and have the strong desire to work as a member of a team.
