Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team in Garden City, New York. This position is ideal for an entry-level candidate seeking to build their career in accounting within the dynamic manufacturing industry. As a Contract-to-long-term opportunity, this role offers growth potential for individuals eager to contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and accurately code vendor invoices for entry into the accounting system.

• Support the processing of weekly check runs and electronic payments with precision and timeliness.

• Organize and maintain comprehensive accounts payable files and records for easy access and audit readiness.

• Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports and reconciling vendor statements.

• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to address and resolve any discrepancies.

• Perform general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and clerical support, as needed. Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or currently enrolled in a degree program.

• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with high volumes of data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic office software.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage tasks and interact with vendors.

• Prior experience in clerical accounting or an internship in accounting is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and check runs, is preferred.
