• Senior Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (New York, NY)


    Description

    We’re looking for a sharp, agile, and resourceful Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role isn’t about routine tasks — it’s about building systems, solving problems, and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment. You’ll take ownership of key accounting functions, bring structure to complexity, and help guide our financial operations as we scale.

    What You’ll Tackle:

    + Oversee and refine the monthly accounting cycle — from initial entries to final reporting

    + Keep our books and systems buttoned up, including tracking payables, managing tax obligations, and ensuring clean ledgers

    + Drive the creation and maintenance of accounting policies, helping to set a strong financial foundation as we grow

    + Analyze key accounts and explain financial movements through thoughtful, data-driven insights

    + Partner with outside firms during audits, special projects, or tax filings

    + Spot inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and help us operate smarter

     

    Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

     

    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.

    • Proficiency in cost accounting and revenue recognition standards, including ASC 606.

    • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and platforms such as QuickBooks and Shopify.

    • Strong expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, and variance analysis.

    • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and related financial tools.

    • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling capabilities.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
