  • Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, GCID…

    Amazon (Arlington, VA)

    Apply Now

    Description

AWS GCID (Global Capacity & Infrastructure Development) owns the design, planning, procurement, delivery, and operation of all AWS global capacity infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Our connectivity supports all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You use your expertise and knowledge of the Data Center and Telecom infrastructure business and its technologies to drive insightful discussions with leadership and can anticipate—and possibly influence—their program's future. You ensure the team’s Business Intelligence solutions are accurate, timely, accessible and actionable. You are able to take the lead on large projects that require the work of multiple persons. You know how to divide a BI project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other data professionals and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch.

You are a key influencer in team strategy. You take ownership of team infrastructure, providing a system-wide view and design guidance. You make things simpler. You drive BI engineering best practices; code reviews, syntax and naming convention, metric definitions, alarms and set organizational standards. You work to resolve the root cause(s) of pervasive or persistent problems; your efforts may unblock related teams. This may require you to influence decisions made by other teams.

    Key job responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain end to end complex performance metrics and visualizations to monitor and report business performance

Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from diverse sources to identify trends and patterns

Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and usability of existing dashboards and reports.

Work on data pipelines, data models and leverage the AWS Infrastructure tech stack to build tracking metrics and related visualizations

Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders in leveraging dashboards and data insights to enhance decision-making processes

    A day in the life

You will work closely with Data Center Supply, Optical Deployment, Finance, Legal, and Fiber Business Development to manage spend related to AWS customer-facing network activities, ensuring that network projects timelines and costs are closely tracked, easily understood, and managed year over year. You will be a trusted resource for Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development and will be a key member of a team of innovative program managers to extend impact across the organization. You will be empowered to think big, influence others, and exercise ownership over your solutions.
