Description
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and streamline financial operations within their organization. This long-term contract position is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to project accounting, payroll management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in managing budgets, reconciling accounts, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll processes.
• Manage month-end procedures such as tracking prepaid expenses and reconciling accounts.
• Administer bi-monthly payroll for employees (< 100), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Track and reconcile expenses associated with various active projects to maintain financial clarity.
• Collaborate with partners to reconcile billing for ongoing projects during bi-monthly meetings.
• Monitor project budgets and cost allocations, ensuring they align with financial goals.
• Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports to senior leadership to support strategic planning.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to assist firm partners in decision-making.
• Utilize project accounting expertise, particularly in construction, architectural, or engineering sectors.
Requirements
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with financial statement audits and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Expertise in accounting for construction projects or similar industries is mandatory.
• Experience with Deltek Ajera software strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
