    Summary:

    We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer IV with a strong background in cloud-based systems, DevOps practices, and microservices architecture. This role focuses on enabling and supporting engineering teams in building, deploying, and maintaining a modern IoT platform.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop and manage DevOps tools, processes, and technologies for the Signify IoT Platform.

    + Build horizontal tools and best practices to support engineering teams in debugging, testing, releasing, and securing cloud infrastructure.

    + Define and implement methodologies that enhance team productivity and software quality.

    + Create and maintain common frameworks and libraries for scalable microservice-based architectures.

    + Troubleshoot and improve the IoT Platform with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.

    + Collaborate with architects and product managers to translate requirements into robust software solutions.

    + Work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality, incremental software.

    + Promote best-in-class software engineering practices and mentor other developers.

    Requirements

    Required Experience & Skills:

    + Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred)

    + Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with a focus on cloud-based systems

    Programming Languages:

    + Strong Java (v1.8+) experience (6+ years)

    + Python, Clojure, ClojureScript

    + Desirable: Golang, JavaScript (Node.js)

    + Web Development/Design: 6+ years

    + Software Engineering: 6+ years

    + Web-based Deployment Knowledge: 6+ years

    Cloud Platforms:

    + Proven hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate)

    Architecture & Systems:

    + Microservices and distributed systems

    + Scalable, high-availability design

    + Network architecture and security

    DevOps & Tools:

    + CI/CD, source control, monitoring, performance tuning

    + Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, HashiCorp stack

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with SaaS and PaaS development

    + Familiarity with non-functional requirements like SLAs, audit, and monitoring

    + Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases
