Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Austin, Texas. This role focuses on managing financial processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in accounting functions within the non-profit sector and demonstrate proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel and NetSuite.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure completeness and consistency in financial records.
• Support grant and fund accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with non-profit industry standards.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and organize financial data, including the use of advanced formulas.
• Maintain and update financial records within NetSuite, ensuring data integrity.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Prepare financial reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting principles and organizational policies.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records, ensuring accuracy. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Background in non-profit accounting or grant management is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract position.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial tasks.
